The Dahlerus family has a mountain cabin with a sauna, a fireplace, and a wonderful location right by the ski slopes in Tänndalen.
But there was one drawback: an unusual smell that couldn't be traced.
"We tried Ozoneair, and after five hours, the cabin smelled fresh, clean, and neutral," says Martin Dahlerus.

The Dahlerus family, with four children, lives in a villa in Lidingö, Stockholm. They love skiing (well, the youngest, who is 11 months old, hasn't tried it yet) and bought their mountain cabin in 2014. The log cabin is located about 300 meters from the ski lift system and slopes in Tänndalen, Jämtland.
"We completely renovated the cabin, which is 85 square meters with three bedrooms and two bathrooms," says Martin Dahlerus.
Celebrating Christmas in the cabin
Today, the cabin has WiFi, cable TV, a modern equipped kitchen, washing machine, shower, fireplace, and sauna.
"We've celebrated Christmas in Tänndalen every year since we bought the cabin, and we usually make sure we get 20-30 ski days there each year."
When the family isn't there, they sometimes lend the cabin or rent it out to loved ones. But for periods, it stands empty. A common dilemma in holiday homes that are closed up is that a stuffy, musty smell develops. Ventilation is limited, and humidity rises when the house is not fully heated. The smell can also come from the house's foundation, from older wallboards, or from impregnation.
Regardless of the source of the smell: the musty odor risks taking hold in walls, floors, and ceilings, but also in furniture, textiles, and other furnishings. Then it becomes difficult to clean and air out the smell – it becomes ingrained and, so to speak, a part of the house.
Couldn't find the cause of the smell
"Friends who borrowed the cabin complained that it smelled 'a bit strange,' and we also felt that it smelled differently."
Last autumn, the family hired an expert who conducted a thorough investigation and determined that the cabin was not affected by dampness or mold.
"He said: It simply smells like 'mountain cabin'."
Martin was tipped off about Ozoneair, a unique product that converts oxygen in the air into ozone gas. Ozone attacks and eliminates odors, mold spores, allergens, bacteria, and other harmful microorganisms. It penetrates into nooks and crannies and even superficially into materials, making it incredibly effective at odor neutralization.
"Easy to use"
"We bought the mid-sized model, Ozoneair Plus, and sanitized the cabin during the November break. It was very easy to use. We placed it in the middle of the largest room, opened doors to other rooms and spaces, and let the machine work for four to five hours."
Afterwards, the air and smell indoors were completely different, says Martin:
"It smelled neutral, fresh, and clean. I can highly recommend Ozoneair to people who have holiday homes that smell stuffy or a bit musty."
Exclusive offer: If Ozoneair doesn't completely remove the odor, return it within 14 days for a full refund, no questions asked
Facts: Ozone
• Ozone is a gas also known as active oxygen; its molecule consists of three oxygen atoms.
• Ozone technology has long been used to purify water and to kill bacteria and viruses in textiles in healthcare. Since the 1970s, remediation companies have used ozone to sanitize homes and premises from fire, tobacco smoke, mold, and other odors.
• With the Swedish innovation Ozoneair, private individuals can sanitize their homes with ozone without any prior knowledge.
Guide: Sanitize with ozone – step by step
• Move flowers and other plants out of the room to be sanitized. Open doors to cabinets where you store clothes, textiles, and other items you want to freshen up – ozone also cleans materials. Close windows and doors.
• Connect Ozoneair to a standard electrical outlet and set the room's area using a dial. Then press the start button.
• The machine is fully automatic. While it's working – usually 2-6 hours – you should not be in the room. Pets should also not be in the room as inhaling ozone is harmful.
• Two hours after the operation is complete, you can re-enter the room. By then, all ozone molecules will have broken down into ordinary oxygen. Ventilate; there might be a slight smell from the ozone treatment itself afterwards, but it will disappear with ventilation.
• Repeat the same procedure in the next room. Sometimes you may need to repeat the treatment a few times.
Use ozone safely. Always read the instruction manual and product information before use.
